Location: Lecture Theatre, Stranmillis College, Belfast
Cost: £10 per Seminar (cost included when enrolled in another course)
Seminar One, Saturday 19th January:
Human sexuality: Why is the church so obsessed with sexuality? Why does it seek to repress various expressions? Hasn’t society moved on and isn’t it time for Christians to catch up? And isn’t it significant that Jesus never said a word about particular relationships? In this session we will think carefully about this important issue and how to respond Biblically.Â
Miracles: As Christians should we expect miracles today? After all, didn’t Jesus promise that his followers would do even greater miracles than he did (john 14:12)? Could it be that the problem with modern Christianity is that we are not open enough to the miraculous?Â
Seminar Two, Saturday 2nd February:
Life after Death: What does the Bible say about life after death for the Christian? Will we go to be with Jesus immediately or will we sleep and wake up at his return? Will we face judgment as Christians? If so, how does that fit with salvation by grace? Will there be rewards? If so what will they be?Â
Christians and the Environment: How as Christians should we think about the environment? Does God’s command to Adam in Genesis 1:28 mean that Christian obedience involves caring for the environment? Or does the promise that the earth will be burned up (1 Peter 3:10) mean that caring for the environment is a waste of time?Â
